Is the 2830-20 worth it over a 7-1/4" saw?

If you mostly cut 2x lumber and want a lighter, more compact saw, yes. If you regularly cut thick stock or deep bevels, the 7-1/4" M18 FUEL saw gives more depth.

Does it come with a battery?

No. The 2830-20 is a bare tool, so you need an M18 battery and charger, which are sold separately.

2-1/2" at 90° and 1-7/8" at 45°, enough for 2x material and most sheet goods.

What blade size does it take?

A 6-1/2" blade with a 5/8" arbor. Blades in this size are less common than 7-1/4" but widely available.
