Is the DeWalt 20V MAX XR framing nailer worth it?

It is worth it if you frame or build decks away from power and already own DeWalt 20V batteries. If you work in a shop with air, a pneumatic framer is cheaper and faster.

Does it come with a battery and charger?

Yes, this is a kit, so it includes a 20V MAX battery and charger along with the nailer. Check the listing for the exact battery capacity included.

What nails does it use?

It drives paper-taped framing nails in the sizes DeWalt specifies for this model. Stick with the recommended nail types and angles to avoid jams.

How does it compare with a pneumatic framing nailer?

It removes the compressor and hose and is easier to move around a site. A pneumatic gun is lighter and fires faster, which matters on high-volume framing.

When is the best time to buy it?

Cordless tool prices often dip around Black Friday and spring contractor promotions. With only one store listing it new at $528.35 as of November 3, 2026, watch for a second seller to appear.

Our take on the DeWalt 20V MAX XR Brushless Cordless Framing Nailer Kit

The DeWalt 20V MAX XR Brushless Cordless Framing Nailer Kit is a battery-powered framing gun for driving paper-taped framing nails into lumber without a compressor or hose. It runs on DeWalt's 20V MAX batteries and uses a brushless motor, so it shares packs with the rest of the 20V line. The kit's best new price is $528.35 at Amazon as of November 3, 2026, with only one store listing it new, so there is little price competition to shop against.
