Our take on the DeWalt 20V MAX XR Cordless 1/2 in. High Torque Impact Wrench Kit with Hog Ring Anvil

The DeWalt 20V MAX XR High Torque Impact Wrench is a brushless 1/2-inch square-drive cordless impact wrench with a hog ring anvil, rated at up to 1,626 Nm of torque and 2,800 rpm across three speed settings. It is built for heavy automotive and equipment work: lug nuts, suspension bolts and rusted fasteners that smaller impact drivers cannot break loose. The kit listing here includes no batteries, so you need DeWalt 20V MAX packs and a charger already. At $283.25 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare it against.

Questions and answers

Is this impact wrench worth it?
If you already own DeWalt 20V MAX batteries and need to remove lug nuts or suspension bolts, yes. The 1,626 Nm rating covers most automotive jobs. If you only work on light fasteners, a compact wrench is cheaper and lighter.
Does the kit include a battery?
No. This listing shows zero batteries included, so you need DeWalt 20V MAX packs and a charger. Budget for at least one high-capacity pack, since the tool draws a lot of current.
What is the difference between hog ring and pin detent?
A hog ring anvil grips the socket with a spring ring, so sockets go on and off quickly by hand. A pin detent locks the socket more securely and needs a tool to release it. Hog ring suits frequent socket changes.
Will it remove stuck lug nuts?
Usually yes. With a charged 5.0Ah or larger pack and impact-rated sockets, it handles typical car and truck lug nuts. For severely rusted fasteners, use penetrating oil and a breaker bar first.
What sockets should I use?
Use 1/2-inch drive impact-rated sockets only. Chrome sockets can crack under this much torque. Deep impact sockets help on lug nuts.
When is it cheapest?
As of November 4, 2026, the best new price is $283.25 at eBay, the only new listing. Prices on bare tools tend to drop during holiday sales and when a new model replaces it.
Where is the DeWalt 20V MAX XR Cordless 1/2 in. High Torque Impact Wrench Kit with Hog Ring Anvil cheapest?
At eBay, for $283.25, as of our latest check.
