Is the DeWalt 5-tool combo kit worth it at $499?

It is a fair price for five tools plus two batteries, but $499 is the top of its recent range. If you can wait for a holiday sale, kits like this often drop.

Are the tools in this kit brushless?

Only partly. The impact driver and multi-tool are listed as brushless, while the drill and circular saw use brushed motors, which run hotter and shorter per charge.

What comes in the box?

The drill/driver, impact driver, 6-1/2 in. circular saw, reciprocating saw, oscillating multi-tool, two 20V MAX batteries, a fast charger, a side handle, belt hook, carbide-tipped blade and a contractor bag.

Do the batteries fit other DeWalt 20V MAX tools?

Yes. The 20V MAX batteries work across DeWalt's 20V MAX line, so you can add bare tools later without buying new batteries.

How does it compare with DeWalt's brushless combo kits?

Brushless kits cost more but give longer runtime and motor life. This kit is the cheaper entry point if you mostly drill and cut light material.

When is this kit cheapest?

Combo kits usually hit their lowest prices around Black Friday and spring tool events. The current $499 at The Home Depot as of November 4, 2026 is not a discount price.
