Is the DeWalt DCG405 worth it at $79.99?

At $79.99 at eBay as of November 5, 2026, it is a low price for a brushless 18V XR grinder. Confirm the listing includes the 5.0Ah battery and charger before buying, since bare-tool prices are lower.

Does the DCG405 come with a battery and charger?

The DCG405P1 kit is listed with a 5.0Ah XR Li-Ion battery. Check the specific listing, because DeWalt also sells bare-tool versions without battery or charger.

What size discs does the DCG405 take?

It takes 125 mm (5 inch) discs with an M14 spindle thread. That is the most common size for 18V grinders, so cutting and grinding discs are easy to find.

Does the DCG405 have variable speed?

No. It runs at a fixed 9,000 rpm no-load speed. For polishing or work that needs slower speeds, a variable-speed grinder is a better fit.

How does the DCG405 compare with a corded grinder?

It is more portable and needs no mains power, but a corded grinder holds up better for long, heavy grinding. For cutting and light grinding on site, the cordless DCG405 is enough.

When is the DCG405 cheapest?

Cordless tool prices tend to dip around Black Friday and end-of-year sales. The current $79.99 at eBay as of November 5, 2026 is already low for a kit, so compare against other stores before waiting.
