The DeWalt DW735 is a 13-inch benchtop thickness planer with a 15-amp motor and a three-knife cutterhead that spins at 10,000 RPM. Its two-speed feed (96 or 179 cuts per inch) and fan-assisted chip ejection set it apart from most benchtop planers. It is heavy at about 157 lb and built on a cast aluminum base. The DW735X adds infeed and outfeed tables and an extra knife set.
Lowest price we've seen: $729.00 on Oct 31 at Home Depot. Tracked across 1 store since Oct 31.
Owners rate the DW735 highly for its power, cut quality and chip ejection. Most complaints center on weight, noise and the cost of replacement knives.
