Is this kit good for a beginner?

Yes. The adjustable angle guide holds the blade at a set angle, which is the hardest part of sharpening to learn. The diamond plate cuts quickly, so results show up in a few passes.

What knives does the 4 x 1 inch plate suit?

It works best on pocket knives, paring knives and small tools. Long chef's knives need more strokes because the plate is short.

Does it include more than one grit?

No. The kit centers on one diamond plate, so you would add a finer stone if you want a polished edge.

At $50.95 at eBay as of November 6, 2026, it is the lowest of the four new listings. The guided angle and diamond plate justify the price for beginners; experienced sharpeners may want a larger stone.

How do I maintain the diamond plate?

Wipe it clean after use and keep it dry. No oil or water bath is needed.

What comes in the box?

The kit includes the folding diamond plate, the angle guide and a carrying case.
