Our take on the Donner Portable Digital Piano 88-key Synth Action Keyboard with X Stand and Pedal

The Donner Portable Digital Piano is an 88-key keyboard with synth-action keys, built-in speakers, Bluetooth, USB/MIDI and a single sustain pedal, sold with an X stand. It weighs about 26.5 lb and runs on corded power, aimed at beginners who want a full-size keyboard without spending much. At $199.99 at Walmart as of November 5, 2026, it sits at the only new price we track, so there is no recent range to compare against.

Pros
  • Full 88 keys for under $200
  • Includes X stand and sustain pedal in the box
  • Bluetooth, USB/MIDI and headphone-ready outputs
  • Built-in speakers, so no amp is needed to start
  • Light enough at about 26.5 lb to move between rooms
Cons
  • Synth-action keys, not weighted or hammer action, despite the listing wording
  • Low power: 1 W peak handling and 1-inch speakers limit volume and bass
  • Single pedal and one preset, so little room to grow
  • No LCD screen; controls are minimal

What reviewers say

  • 4 / 536 ratings

What people mention
  • Key actionCriticisedOwners say the keys feel light and synth-like rather than weighted, which matters to players expecting piano touch.
  • SoundMixedThe built-in speakers are fine for practice but sound thin and lack bass at higher volume.
  • SetupPraisedAssembly and first use are described as quick and simple, even for beginners.
  • FeaturesMixedBluetooth and MIDI are welcome, but the single preset and one pedal limit what the piano can do.

Questions and answers

Are the keys weighted?
No. The keys are synth action, which feels lighter and springier than a weighted or hammer-action piano. That is normal at this price but worth knowing if touch matters to you.
What comes in the box?
The keyboard, an X-style stand and a single sustain pedal. A power adapter is needed for corded use; check the listing for whether it is included.
Can I use headphones?
Yes. There is a headphone output, which is the practical way to practice quietly, since the 1 W speakers are modest.
Does it connect to a phone or computer?
Yes. It has USB/MIDI and Bluetooth, so it can drive music apps and software instruments.
Is it good for a beginner?
Yes, for a first year of lessons. The full 88 keys and included stand and pedal cover the basics, but players who stick with it usually want weighted keys later.
When is it cheapest?
The best new price we track is $199.99 at Walmart as of November 5, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so discounts are likely to be seasonal rather than frequent.
Where is the Donner Portable Digital Piano 88-key Synth Action Keyboard with X Stand and Pedal cheapest?
At Walmart, for $199.99, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Donner Portable Digital Piano 88-key Synth Action Keyboard with X Stand and Pedal?
