Questions and answers

Is this tank worth it over a dealer part?
Yes for most older Ford owners. It costs a fraction of a dealer tank and fits the same applications, though you supply the sending unit and straps.
Does it come with a sending unit?
No. The tank ships without a sending unit, so reuse your old one if it works or buy a new one for your model.
What else do I need to install it?
Mounting straps and hardware are not included. Plan on new straps, a sending unit and a new filler neck gasket for a complete job.
Will it fit my Ford?
Only if your truck or van is on Dorman's compatibility list for 576-120. Check your year, model and engine before ordering, since other Ford tanks look similar but differ in shape.
Is it steel or plastic?
It is steel with a painted, rust-resistant finish and an included shield. That matches the original steel tank on many Ford applications.
When is it cheapest?
The best new price was $100.25 at Partsgeek.com as of November 3, 2026, the low end of its recent range. Prices at the other five stores ran higher.
