Questions and answers

Is this fertilizer approved for organic growing?

Yes. It is OMRI listed and CDFA listed, so it can be used in certified organic orchards and gardens.

How much area does the 25 lb bag cover?

Coverage depends on tree size and the rate you apply. Follow the label rate per tree and expect the bag to feed several backyard trees for a season.

When should I apply it to fruit trees?

Apply in early spring before growth starts and again lightly in early summer. Work the granules into the soil around the drip line and water in.

Does it work on figs and mangos as well as apples and pears?

Yes. Down To Earth lists apples, pears, figs, mangos and other fruit trees as suitable, and the 6-2-4 ratio with calcium suits fruiting trees generally.

Is the price of $87.49 a good one?

With only one store listing it new at $87.49 as of November 7, 2026, there is no competing price to beat. Compare against other OMRI-listed fruit tree fertilizers per pound before buying.

Is it fast acting or slow release?

It is a quick-release granular, so nutrients become available sooner than with slow-release organic pellets, but you may need to reapply during the season.
