Our take on the Dreame H12 Pro Wet and Dry Vacuum Cleaner and Mop

The Dreame H12 Pro is a cordless wet-and-dry stick vacuum that vacuums and mops hard floors in one pass. It stands out for edge-to-edge cleaning, a brush that self-cleans and dries with hot air in about an hour, and a sensor that adjusts suction to the mess. The 6-cell 4,000mAh battery gives over half an hour of runtime, and the 0.24 gal tank keeps refills infrequent. It is a hard-floor machine first, not a carpet vacuum.

Questions and answers

Is the Dreame H12 Pro worth it?
If most of your floors are hard, yes. It replaces a vacuum and a mop in one pass and cleans its own brush, which is the main reason to pay a premium over a plain stick vacuum.
How does it compare with the H12 or H13?
The H12 Pro adds hot-air brush drying and edge-to-edge cleaning over the base H12. The H13 line moves to a larger tank and stronger suction, so choose it if you clean big areas in one go.
How long does the battery last?
Dreame rates the 6-cell 4,000mAh pack at over half an hour of cleaning. Expect less on the highest suction setting.
Does it work on carpets?
It is built for hard floors. It can pick up dry debris on low-pile carpet, but it is not a replacement for a carpet vacuum.
What comes in the box?
The main body, handle, a spare brush roller, a replacement filter, a cleaning brush and a bottle of cleaning solution.
When is it cheapest?
Watch for sales around major shopping events and holiday weekends, when Dreame and retailers cut prices on the H-series.
