Our take on the Dual White LED COB Strip 640Chips 16W

The MEKONG LIGHT Dual White COB Strip is a 5-meter roll of high-density LED tape with 640 chips per meter, offering tunable white light from 2700K to 6500K. It runs on 24VDC, draws up to 16W per meter, and delivers 680–760 lumens per meter with a CRI of 90 or higher. The 8mm wide PCB and 50mm cut points make it suitable for tight spaces and custom installations. We don't have current pricing or a recent price range for this strip.

  • Tunable color temperature from 2700K to 6500K
  • CRI ≥90 for accurate color rendering
  • Cuttable every 50mm for custom lengths
  • 3-year warranty
Cons
  • Requires a 24VDC power supply and a dual-white controller (not included)
  • Max 16W/m may need thicker gauge wiring for long runs
  • Only 8mm wide, so limited to low-profile channels
  • No pricing or availability information provided

Questions and answers

What driver and controller do I need for this strip?
You need a 24VDC constant-voltage power supply sized for the total wattage, plus a dual-white controller (often called CCT or tunable white) to mix the two white channels. The strip has separate warm and cool white channels, so a standard single-color dimmer won't adjust color temperature.
Can I cut this strip to fit my project?
Yes, it can be cut every 50mm (about 2 inches) at marked cut points. Only cut at those marks to keep the remaining strip working.
How bright is it compared to standard LED strip?
It produces 680 lumens per meter at 2700K and 760 lumens per meter at 6500K, with efficiency of 85–95 lumens per watt. That's brighter than many basic strips, but check that your power supply can handle the load.
Does it come with a power supply or mounting hardware?
No, the roll includes only the LED strip. You'll need to purchase a 24V power supply, controller, and any mounting clips or channels separately.
Is this strip dimmable?
Yes, it can be dimmed with a compatible PWM dimmer or a dual-white controller that supports dimming. Make sure the controller is rated for the total wattage of the strip you're using.
What is the warranty and expected lifespan?
It carries a 3-year warranty. LED strips like this typically last 25,000 to 50,000 hours depending on operating conditions, but the manufacturer doesn't specify a lifespan figure.
