Is the Durofix RS1222 worth it?

For spot correction, headlight polishing and small sanding jobs, yes. At $119.99 for the kit at Durofix Tools as of November 7, 2026, you get the tool, two backing pads, pads, a 4.0Ah battery, charger and bag.

Does it come with a battery and charger?

The kit does: a 12V 4.0Ah battery and charger are included, along with a canvas bag. The body-only version does not include them.

What size pads does it take?

It ships with 2-inch and 3-inch backing pads and accepts pads up to 5 inches. The spindle is 6/16-24UNF / M6.

How long does the battery last?

On test with a 2Ah battery it ran 52 minutes. The kit's 4.0Ah battery should roughly double that, depending on speed and load.

The eccentric orbital head is designed to reduce the risk of paint burns, and the low 1,600 RPM setting helps on sensitive finishes. Still use light pressure and keep the pad moving.
