Is the Dyson V7 Motorhead worth it?

It suits quick cleanups and small homes. If you have wall-to-wall carpet or a large floor plan, a newer V8 or V10 gives more suction and run time for more money.

How long does the battery last?

Up to 30 minutes on the standard setting and about 6 minutes on MAX. A full charge takes 3.5 hours.

Can it clean carpets?

Yes, the direct-drive cleaner head works on low-pile carpet and rugs. It struggles on deep-pile carpet compared with newer Dyson models.

What comes in the box?

The vacuum, direct-drive cleaner head, combination tool and crevice tool. Check the listing for a wall dock, which is not always included.

How does it compare with the V8?

The V8 has more suction, a longer run time and a bigger bin. The V7 is lighter and usually cheaper.

Older V-series sticks drop most during Black Friday and end-of-summer sales. Watch the price history before buying.

Our take on the Dyson V7 Motorhead Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner

The Dyson V7 Motorhead is a cordless stick vacuum with a direct-drive cleaner head, 100 AW of suction in MAX mode and up to 30 minutes of run time on the standard setting. It converts to a handheld for stairs and cars, and the washable filter means no bags to buy. It is an older V-series model, so it sits well below newer Dyson sticks in price and power.
