Our take on the Ebern Designs Arale 86'' Wide Comfy Cloud Couch Sectional Loveseat Sofa with Ottoman

The Ebern Designs Arale is an 86-inch L-shaped sectional loveseat in chenille, sold with a matching ottoman. It has a low 19.2-inch seat, pillow-back cushions and pillow-top arms, and a reversible orientation so the chaise side can flip. The solid and manufactured wood frame is rated for 700 lb. It is a budget-priced cloud-style couch, so expect a softer, less structured sit than a traditional sofa.

Best forSmall living rooms and apartmentsShoppers who want a cloud-style couch on a budgetHouseholds that need a reversible chaise orientationLounging and movie nights
Pros
  • Reversible orientation lets you flip the chaise to either side
  • Chenille upholstery with a soft hand
  • Removable, reversible cushions are easier to clean and rotate
  • 700 lb weight capacity is high for an 86-inch loveseat
  • Ottoman adds flexible seating or a footrest
Cons
  • Low 19.2-inch seat and 18.1-inch back suit taller sitters poorly
  • Foam-only fill can soften and sag over time
  • Solid and manufactured wood frame is not solid hardwood
  • Chenille shows crushing and marks in high-traffic spots
  • Deep 57-inch footprint needs floor space despite the loveseat label

Questions and answers

Is the Arale sectional worth it?
It is a reasonable pick if you want a soft, deep cloud-style couch at a low price and have a small room. If you need firm support or long-term durability, a solid-wood frame sofa is a better spend.
Can the chaise go on either side?
Yes. The Arale is listed as reversible, so you can set the chaise on the left or right to fit your room.
How firm is the seat?
It is foam-filled and designed to feel soft and sink-in. Owners who prefer a firm couch often find it too soft.
What are the dimensions?
It measures 86 inches wide, 57 inches deep and 34.6 inches high, with a 19.2-inch seat height and 26.4-inch seat depth.
Does it come with the ottoman?
Yes. The listing includes the sectional sofa and a matching ottoman.
When is it cheapest?
Sectional prices usually dip during major sales events and at the end of the season. Check the price history on this page before buying.
