Is the EGO CS2000 worth it over a gas chainsaw?

For yard and firewood work, yes: it starts instantly, runs quietly and needs no fuel mixing. Gas still wins for all-day professional cutting where refueling beats swapping batteries.

What battery do I need for the CS2000?

It takes EGO 56V ARC Lithium packs; the 5.0Ah and larger packs are the practical choice for a 20-inch bar. The tool ships without a battery or charger, so budget for both.

How long does the battery last?

Expect roughly 30 to 60 minutes of light limbing on a 5.0Ah pack, and far less in continuous large-diameter cuts. A second battery is the simplest fix.

Does it come with a bar and chain?

Yes. The 20-inch bar and full chisel chain are included; only the battery and charger are missing.

Is it safe for beginners?

It has an omnidirectional auto chain brake, a kickback brake and a low-kickback bar and chain, which help a lot. It is still a 20-inch saw, so learn proper stance and kickback zones first.

When is the CS2000 cheapest?

Bare-tool prices tend to dip during spring and fall outdoor-tool sales and around major holiday promotions. The current best is $279.00 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026.
