Our take on the Electrolux Denim Blue Front Load 4.5 Cu. Ft. Washer/8 Cu. Ft. Electric Dryer Laundry Pair

This is a matched Electrolux laundry pair: a 4.5 cu. ft. front-load washer in Denim Blue and an 8 cu. ft. electric dryer. The washer's drum is sized for large family loads, and the dryer's 8 cu. ft. drum is among the roomier electric dryers sold for home use. Both are full-size units, so measure the laundry space and confirm a 240V electric dryer hookup before buying. No current price was provided for this pair, so compare the pair's price against its own recent range before committing.

Best forLarge households with bulky loadsBuyers replacing a washer and dryer togetherLaundry rooms with a 240V dryer outletShoppers who want matching appliances in one color
Pros
  • 4.5 cu. ft. washer handles king-size bedding and big loads
  • 8 cu. ft. dryer drum is large for an electric model
  • Matched pair in the same Denim Blue finish
  • Front-load washer is gentler on fabrics than an agitator top-loader
  • Electric dryer installs where gas lines are not available
Cons
  • Electric dryer needs a 240V circuit, not a standard outlet
  • Front-load washers need regular door-gasket cleaning
  • Pair price is higher than buying one unit at a time
  • Denim Blue finish may not match other kitchen or laundry appliances
  • Washer and dryer are sold as a set, so you cannot swap sizes

Questions and answers

Is this pair worth it over buying a washer and dryer separately?
A matched pair simplifies delivery and installation and guarantees the same finish. Compare the pair price with the cost of the same washer and a comparable 8 cu. ft. electric dryer bought separately before deciding.
What hookups does the electric dryer need?
It needs a 240V electric outlet and a vent to the outside, the same as most full-size electric dryers. It will not run on a standard 120V household outlet.
Will the 4.5 cu. ft. washer fit a king-size comforter?
Yes. A 4.5 cu. ft. front-load drum is generally rated for king-size bedding, though very thick comforters may need a larger commercial machine.
How much space does the pair need?
Allow room for the washer and dryer side by side plus clearance behind each for hoses, the vent and the power cord. Measure the opening and the doorway path before ordering.
When is the best time to buy this pair?
Laundry pairs usually drop during major holiday sales and when a model is being replaced. Track the pair's price history and buy when it sits near the low end of its recent range.
