Our take on the Elegant Comfort 1500 Thread Count Wrinkle Resistant Egyptian Quality Soft 4 Bed Sheet Set

The Elegant Comfort 1500 Thread Count sheet set is a four-piece polyester microfiber set (flat sheet, fitted sheet, two pillowcases) with a deep pocket fitted sheet that fits mattresses up to 16 inches. The "1500 thread count" figure is a marketing number, not a true cotton thread count; the fabric is microfiber, which is why it is wrinkle resistant, fade resistant and quick drying. Pillowcases measure 20 by 30 inches and carry a triple-row embroidered border. It is a budget-priced set aimed at shoppers who want soft, low-maintenance sheets rather than cotton or linen.

Questions and answers

Is the 1500 thread count real?
No. The fabric is polyester microfiber, and 1500 is a marketing figure rather than a measured cotton thread count. Judge it by the microfiber feel, not the number.
Will it fit my mattress?
The fitted sheet has deep pockets and fits mattresses up to 16 inches deep. Measure your mattress depth before buying if it is close to that limit.
Is it good for hot sleepers?
Microfiber traps heat more than cotton or linen, so hot sleepers may find it warm. It is breathable for a synthetic fabric but not as cool as percale cotton.
How should I wash it?
Machine wash cold and tumble dry low. It is wrinkle resistant and quick drying, so it needs little care, but avoid high heat to limit pilling.
What is in the set?
Four pieces: one flat sheet, one deep-pocket fitted sheet and two pillowcases measuring 20 by 30 inches with embroidered borders.
When is it cheapest?
Microfiber sheet sets like this one are most often discounted during back-to-school and Black Friday sales and in January white sales. Check the price history before buying.
