Our take on the Elrene Antonia 95In Blackout Window Curtain

The Elrene Antonia is a single faux-silk blackout panel with a rod-pocket header and a waterfall valance sewn across the top. It is sold as one 52-inch-wide by 84-inch-long panel, so most windows need two or more. The polyester satin blocks light, adds some insulation and noise damping, and is machine washable. It is a budget-priced decorative blackout panel rather than a true room-darkening liner.

Questions and answers

Is one panel enough for a standard window?
No. Each order is a single 52-inch-wide panel, so a typical 60- to 100-inch window needs two panels for full coverage and a gathered look.
Does it really block all light?
It is labeled blackout and blocks most daylight, but rod-pocket gaps at the top and sides let some light through. For full darkness, mount the rod wider than the window.
How do I get the wrinkles out?
It is steamable and machine washable. Steam or tumble on low before hanging; the faux-silk finish holds creases from the packaging.
Can it go in the dryer?
Machine wash cold and hang or tumble low. High heat can damage the satin finish and the blackout backing.
Will the color fade in a sunny room?
The panel is not fade resistant. In a room with strong direct sun, expect some dulling over time; rotate or line the window if color matters.
What length do I need?
This panel is 84 inches long, a common floor-length size for 8-foot ceilings. Measure from the rod to the floor and add a few inches for the rod pocket.
