Is this set worth it over a washer-dryer combo?

It costs more than many all-in-one combos, but the two separate units let you wash and dry at once and the dryer dries faster than a combo's condensing cycle. Choose it if you have room to stack and a vent for the dryer.

Does the dryer need to be vented outside?

Yes. The 848 is a vented dryer, so it needs an exhaust duct to the outside. Plan the duct run before you buy, especially in a closet or RV.

What are the real load sizes?

The washer holds about 13 lbs in a 1.6 cu ft drum; the dryer is 2.6 cu ft. That fits a small family's daily laundry but not a king comforter or a week of laundry for four.

What height do I need to stack them?

The washer is 33.5 inches tall and the dryer 27.5 inches, so stacked they need roughly 61 inches plus a stacking kit and clearance. Measure your closet or alcove first.

What comes in the box?

The set includes the 826 washer and the 848 dryer. Check that the stacking kit and vent duct are included or sold separately before ordering.

When is the price lowest?

The best new price is $1,549 at Walmart as of November 7, 2026, among 5 stores. Compact laundry sets usually dip during major appliance sales, so compare the price history before buying.
