Our take on the Etta Avenue Arliss Upholstered Corduroy Daybed

The Etta Avenue Arliss is an upholstered corduroy daybed that works as a sofa by day and a twin-size sleeper for guests. It has a 42.1-inch width, 84.4-inch length and 31.1-inch height, with a slatted base included and a solid-plus-manufactured-wood frame. It is a style-led piece rather than a heavy-duty bed, and it needs a box spring and full assembly.

Questions and answers

Is the Arliss daybed worth it?
It is a reasonable pick if you want a textured corduroy daybed that seats and sleeps one person. If you need a firm, heavy-duty bed, a standard frame will serve you better.
Does it need a box spring?
Yes. The listing specifies a box spring is required, even though a slatted base is included. Budget for a twin box spring and check that the added height still suits your room.
What mattress size fits?
It is a twin daybed, so use a twin mattress. The 42.1-inch width and 84.4-inch length leave little room for anything larger.
How much assembly is involved?
Assembly is required and covers the frame, slats and upholstered headboard. Set aside an evening and a second person for the frame.
Can it be used as a everyday sofa?
Yes, that is its main use case. The upholstered back and corduroy cover make it comfortable for sitting, though it is not a deep lounge sofa.
When is it cheapest?
Daybeds from this brand tend to dip during seasonal furniture sales and holiday weekends. Check the price history before buying rather than assuming the current price is the low.
What do buyers say about the Etta Avenue Arliss Upholstered Corduroy Daybed?
Rated 4.2 out of 5 from 65 ratings.
