Questions and answers

Is 16 oz a good size for canning?
Yes for jams, salsas, pickles and small batches. For whole fruit or large yields, quart jars are more efficient.
Do lids come with the jars?
The listing does not confirm lids or bands. Confirm with the seller before buying if you need them sealed.
Are these jars freezer safe?
Mason jars can go in the freezer if you leave headspace, but wide-shoulder jars crack more easily than straight-sided freezer containers.
Wide mouth or regular mouth?
These are wide mouth, so they take wide-mouth lids and fit larger pieces of food. Wide-mouth lids and bands cost slightly more.
When is the best time to buy?
Canning jars often drop in price during late-summer canning season and around holiday sales. Compare the per-jar price across stores.
