Our take on the Farberware 15 Piece Dishwasher Safe Nonstick Cookware Set

The Farberware 15-Piece Dishwasher Safe Nonstick Cookware Set is an aluminum nonstick set aimed at equipping a whole kitchen at once, covering saucepans, frying pans and a 5-quart Dutch oven. The nonstick interiors release food easily and the set is dishwasher safe, which is the main draw for everyday cooks. It works on gas, electric, glass and ceramic cooktops but not induction, and it is oven safe only to 350°F. It is a budget-tier set, so expect lighter-gauge aluminum rather than the heft of premium cookware.

Questions and answers

Is this set worth it?
For a starter kitchen or a budget replacement, yes. You get 15 pieces with nonstick interiors and dishwasher-safe cleanup for less than most single premium pans.
Does it work on induction cooktops?
No. The aluminum construction is not induction ready. It works on gas, electric, glass and ceramic cooktops.
Can the pans go in the oven?
Yes, but only up to 350°F. That rules out broiling and most high-heat roasting.
Is it really dishwasher safe?
Farberware rates the set dishwasher safe. Hand washing will still extend the life of the nonstick coating.
What is in the 15-piece set?
It includes saucepans, frying pans and a 5-quart Dutch oven with lids. It does not include a stock pot, roasting pan or steamer.
When is it cheapest?
Sets like this usually drop during back-to-school and holiday sales. Check the price history before buying outside those windows.
