Our take on the FDW 6 Inch Twin Mattress, Medium Firm Gel Memory Foam

The FDW 6 Inch Twin is a budget gel memory foam mattress in a 75 by 39 inch twin size, sold as medium firm with a Eurotop-style cover. The 6-inch profile suits bunk beds, trundles, guest rooms and adjustable bed frames where a thick mattress won't fit. At $84.98 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent price range and is one of the cheapest twin foam mattresses you can buy new.

Questions and answers

Is the FDW 6 Inch Twin mattress worth it?
For a bunk bed, guest room or a child's room, yes. At $84.98 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it costs less than most twin mattresses. Adults over roughly 200 pounds should expect it to wear out faster.
Is it firm enough for back sleepers?
It is sold as medium firm, which most back and stomach sleepers find adequate. Side sleepers and heavier adults often want a thicker mattress with more cushioning.
Does it work on an adjustable bed frame?
Yes. The 6-inch foam profile bends easily and is listed as suitable for adjustable beds. It also fits standard twin bunks and trundles at 75 by 39 inches.
How long does it take to expand?
Most foam mattresses like this one reach full height within 24 to 72 hours after unboxing. Sleeping on it the first night is fine, but it may feel firmer until it fully expands.
Is the gel memory foam actually cooler?
Gel infusion helps a little compared with plain memory foam, but a 6-inch foam mattress still sleeps warmer than a spring or hybrid. A breathable protector and a cool room help more.
When is it cheapest?
Budget twin mattresses like this tend to dip during back-to-school and Black Friday sales. The current $84.98 at Walmart is already near the bottom of its recent range.
Where is the FDW 6 Inch Twin Mattress, Medium Firm Gel Memory Foam cheapest?
At Walmart, for $84.98, as of our latest check.
