Best forHomes with pets or allergy sufferersStandard 1-inch filter slotsBudget-minded replacements bought in bulkRenters and homeowners who change filters themselves

Pros

MERV 11 catches fine dust, pollen and pet dander without the airflow drop of MERV 13+
Electrostatically charged media boosts capture of small particles
Reinforced wire backing keeps the pleats from collapsing
Comparable to MPR 1000/1200 and FPR 7, so it swaps into the same slot
Made in the USA with a recyclable frame
Easy drop-in install in a standard 1-inch slot

Cons

3-month service life means frequent replacement
1-inch depth limits total media area versus 4-inch filters
Not rated for smoke, viruses or fine fumes the way higher MERV filters are
Gold frame color is cosmetic and may not match every install

Questions and answers

Is MERV 11 enough for a home with pets?: Yes for most homes. MERV 11 captures pet dander and pollen at 95% efficiency, and it is the usual pick when you want better filtration without straining the blower.
How often should I change it?: Filterbuy rates it for 3 months. Change sooner if you have shedding pets, heavy dust or a system that runs constantly.
Will it fit my 16x20x1 slot?: It is a nominal 16x20x1 filter, so it fits standard 1-inch return grilles and filter cabinets sized for that. Measure your old filter before ordering.
How does it compare with MPR 1000/1200 or FPR 7 filters?: Filterbuy lists it as comparable to MPR 1000/1200 and FPR 7, so it is a like-for-like swap at a lower price per filter.
Is it worth it over a cheaper MERV 8?: If allergies or pets are the reason you are filtering, yes. MERV 11 catches finer particles than MERV 8 while still keeping airflow open.
When is it cheapest?: Multi-packs usually cost less per filter than singles. The best new price was $10.97 at Walmart as of November 7, 2026.
