Is $103.98 a good price for this filter?

No. That is roughly three to five times what most 24x30x2 pleated filters cost. With only one store listing it new as of November 7, 2026, there is no cheaper offer to compare.

Which MERV rating should I pick?

MERV 8 suits basic dust protection, MERV 11 is a reasonable middle for allergy sufferers, and MERV 13 catches the finest particles but restricts airflow more. Homes with older or undersized ductwork should stay at 8 or 11.

Will a MERV 13 version strain my HVAC system?

It can. Higher MERV means denser media and more pressure drop, which can reduce airflow and make the blower work harder. Check your system's filter spec or ask an HVAC tech before stepping up.

How often should I replace it?

Every 1 to 3 months for standard 1-inch and 2-inch pleated filters, sooner in dusty homes or with pets. A MERV 13 filter loads faster than a MERV 8.

What are the actual dimensions?

The product name says 24x30x2 inches, but the listed specs say 1x14x12 inches. Measure your filter slot before ordering and confirm the nominal size with the seller.

Is it made in the USA?

Yes, Air Bear lists the country of origin as the USA.

Our take on the Air Bear 24x30x2 Pleated Air Filter

The Air Bear 24x30x2 is a pleated HVAC filter for residential forced-air systems, sold in MERV 8, 11 and 13 versions. It uses a moisture-resistant beverage-board frame and a media blend rated to capture particles from 0.3 to 10 microns, with the MERV number setting how fine. The only new price found is $103.98 at Amazon as of November 7, 2026, with no other store pricing it new, so there is no recent range to compare against. That is high for a single 2-inch pleated filter; most 24x30x2 filters sell for well under $40.
