Is the Fisher-Price Soothing Motions Bassinet worth it?

It is a good fit if you want motion, sound and a night light in one bassinet for a newborn. Expect to replace it by about 5 months, so factor that short lifespan into the price.

How long can my baby use it?

Fisher-Price rates it for babies up to about 5 months or 20 lbs, whichever comes first. Stop using it once your baby can push up or roll over.

Does it need batteries?

Yes. The sway, vibration, music and projector run on batteries, so keep spares on hand. The detachable projector also works on a tabletop away from the bassinet.

Can I turn off the swaying?

Yes. A lock-out lets you stop the swaying motion and use it as a still bassinet. Vibration and sound can be run separately.

The bassinet frame, mesh sides, sleeping pad, and the removable projector and soother unit. No changing station or extra mattress is included.

Prices vary by seller and this model is often discounted as stock clears. Check the price history and compare listings rather than buying at the first price you see.

Our take on the Fisher-Price Soothing Motions Bassinet

The Fisher-Price Soothing Motions Bassinet is a freestanding infant bassinet with a sleeping pad, mesh sides, gentle sways, calming vibrations, music and a light projector. The projector detaches and works as a tabletop soother, and a lock-out stops the swaying when you want it still. It is rated for babies up to about 5 months and roughly 20 lbs. It is a discontinued-style model, so stock and pricing vary by seller; compare current listings against recent prices before buying.
