Our take on the Flexi New Comfort Dog Lead

The Flexi New Comfort is a retractable dog lead with a 16 ft cord and a built-in LED light in the handle for evening walks. It is the mid-range Flexi line, sized for small to medium dogs, with a one-hand braking and locking button. The 4.5-star rating across 2,200 reviews puts it among the better-regarded retractable leads. It is a practical pick for casual neighborhood walks rather than training or strong pullers.

Questions and answers

Is the Flexi New Comfort worth it over a basic retractable lead?
Yes if you walk at night or want a comfortable grip. The LED handle and smoother brake are the main upgrades over Flexi's cheaper lines.
What size dog is this lead for?
It is built for small to medium dogs. Check the weight limit printed on the lead for your model, and choose a larger Flexi for strong pullers.
How long is the lead and does it lock?
The cord extends to 16 ft. The thumb button brakes and locks the cord at any length.
Does the LED need batteries?
Yes. The light runs on batteries in the handle, so keep spares for night walks.
Is a retractable lead good for training?
No. Constant tension teaches pulling. Use a fixed lead for training and keep the retractable for relaxed walks.
What do buyers say about the Flexi New Comfort Dog Lead?
Rated 4.5 out of 5 from 2,200 ratings.
