Our take on the Floral Epoxy Resin 1.5 Gallon Kit

This is a two-part polyamine epoxy kit totaling 1.5 gallons, sold for casting, embedding, and sealing projects. It pours as a low-viscosity, crystal-clear liquid and cures to a rigid, high-gloss finish over about 72 hours at room temperature. The formula is marketed as bubble-free, blush-free, and 0% shrinkage, with very low yellowing under UV. It is a hobbyist-grade kit, not a deep-pour casting resin built for thick single pours.

Pros
  • Optically clear, high-gloss cured finish
  • Low viscosity helps it flow and release bubbles
  • Slow 72-hour cure leaves working time for embedding
  • Claimed 0% shrinkage and blush-free cure
  • Resists moisture, acids, and chemicals once cured
  • Very low yellowing under UV exposure
Cons
  • 72-hour cure is slow for production work
  • Polyamine systems can be finicky about mix ratio
  • Rigid cure offers little flexibility for thin films
  • Not compatible with polyester resins
  • Hobbyist-grade kit, not a pro deep-pour system

Questions and answers

Is this resin good for deep pours?
No. It is a slow-cure hobbyist kit for casting, embedding, and sealing thin to moderate layers. For thick single pours, use a dedicated deep-pour casting resin to avoid overheating and cracking.
How long until it is fully cured?
The kit lists 72 hours at room temperature for a full cure. You can usually demold sooner, but let pieces sit the full time before sanding or polishing.
Will it yellow in sunlight?
The listing claims very low to minimal yellowing under UV. That is better than basic craft resins, but no epoxy is fully UV-proof, so keep finished pieces out of direct sun for long periods.
What is included in the kit?
You get Part A epoxy and Part B curing agent in a two-part 1.5-gallon kit, plus full mixing instructions. Measuring cups, molds, and colorants are not included.
Can I mix it with polyester resin?
No. The listing names polyester as incompatible. Keep epoxy tools and batches separate from polyester work.
When is the price lowest?
Epoxy kits tend to dip during craft-supply sales and holiday promotions. Check the price history on this page before buying a large kit.
