Our take on the Fly Racing Formula S Carbon Legacy Helmet

The Formula S Carbon Legacy is Fly Racing's top-tier full-face off-road helmet, built around a 12K carbon fiber shell and the Adaptive Impact System. RHEON impact energy cells and a rotational-impact design aim to manage both straight and twisting forces, and the helmet adds integrated LED crash lights, quick-release cheek pads and a wide goggle port. It is DOT (FMVSS218) and ECE approved. At $399.99 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range, with four stores listing it new.

Questions and answers

Is the Fly Racing Formula S Carbon worth $399.99?
At $399.99 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it is at the low end of its recent range. You get a carbon shell, RHEON impact cells and crash lights, which is strong for the money if you ride off-road often.
Does it meet DOT and ECE standards?
Yes. Fly lists it as DOT (FMVSS218) and ECE approved, so it is legal for road and competition use in most markets.
What sizes does it come in?
The listing covers X-Small and Small, fitting roughly 24.5 to 25.25 inches of head circumference on an intermediate oval shape. Check the size chart before ordering.
Does it work with goggles?
Yes. It has a wide goggle port and no face shield, so it is built for goggles. An extra visor is included.
How do the crash lights work?
Integrated LEDs flash red if the helmet detects a crash, which can help others find you. They are a visibility aid, not a substitute for replacing a crashed helmet.
When is it cheapest?
Prices vary by store and size. The $399.99 eBay price as of November 4, 2026 is the lowest new price we have seen recently, so compare sizes across the four stores before buying.
Where is the Fly Racing Formula S Carbon Legacy Helmet cheapest?
