Our take on the France & Son Travertine Monolith Rectangle Coffee Table

The France & Son Travertine Monolith Rectangle Coffee Table is a 39.5-inch-wide, 14-inch-tall coffee table with a polished travertine-clad top and body over a stainless steel frame, sitting on a plinth base. It weighs 176 lbs, so it is a heavy, mostly stationary piece. Each table's stone has its own gray veining, so no two are identical. It suits modern and minimalist living rooms where the table is a focal point rather than a workhorse.

Questions and answers

Is travertine a good coffee table material?
Yes, for looks. Travertine is a natural stone with warm tones and distinctive veining. It is softer and more porous than granite or quartz, so seal it and wipe spills quickly.
How big is this coffee table?
It measures 39.5 inches wide, 23.6 inches deep and 14 inches tall. That fits a standard three-seat sofa, though the low height suits modern low-profile seating best.
How heavy is it, and can one person move it?
It weighs 176 lbs. Two people should move it, and you should plan its spot before delivery since it is not a table you slide around.
Will the stone pattern match the photos?
No. Each table uses its own travertine slab, so the gray veining pattern is one of a kind. Expect variation from any photo you see.
Does it need sealing?
Travertine is porous, so a penetrating stone sealer is recommended, especially in homes with kids or drinks. Reseal periodically depending on use.
What is in the box?
The table ships as a single piece with the travertine-clad top and body on its stainless steel frame. Check the listing for delivery and assembly details, since stone furniture often ships by freight.
