Is the Freeman coil siding nailer worth it over a name brand?

It costs $199.00 at The Home Depot as of November 4, 2026, well under most pro-brand coil nailers. For siding and sheathing on a budget it covers the same nail range and features. Name brands tend to hold up better under daily commercial use.

What nails does it take?

15-degree plastic-collated coil siding nails, 0.09 to 0.113 inch shank, 1-1/4 to 2-1/2 inches long. Stick to quality coils; cheap off-brand coils are the usual cause of misfeeds.

What air pressure and compressor do I need?

It runs at 70–110 PSI. A compressor that sustains roughly 3–4 CFM at 90 PSI keeps up with fast bump firing.

Can it drive nails flush in cedar and hard siding?

Yes. Depth is set tool-free at the nose, so you can dial it back for soft cedar and in for denser wood. Test on scrap first.

The nailer, an adjustable metal belt hook and the operator's manual. Nails, oil and fittings are not included.

Freeman nailers tend to dip during fall and holiday tool promotions. The current best is $199.00 at The Home Depot as of November 4, 2026; check the price history before buying.
