Our take on the Fun Costumes Animatronic Evil Greeter Butler Decoration

A 68-inch (5.6-foot) Halloween prop of a butler figure in black, gray and white, built to stand at a door or in a hallway and greet guests with animatronic motion. The head and hands are molded plastic; the arms are foam-covered metal, and it runs on a standard US wall outlet, so it needs to be near an outlet or an extension cord. It is an indoor or covered-area piece, not a rain-safe yard decoration. No current price was provided, so check the price history before buying.

Best forAdults hosting a Halloween partyIndoor haunted-house or entryway scenesCovered porches and foyersShoppers wanting a life-size standing figure, not a tabletop prop
Pros
  • Life-size at 68 inches, taller than most animated props
  • Animatronic movement draws attention at an entryway
  • Plug-in power means no battery swaps mid-party
  • Molded plastic head and hands hold detail better than fabric-only faces
  • Stands on its own base, no rigging needed
Cons
  • Requires a wall outlet, which limits where it can stand
  • Indoor or covered use only; not weatherproof
  • Foam-covered arms can dent or tear with rough handling
  • Assembly and storage take space for a 5.6-foot figure
  • No price data given, so value is hard to judge

Questions and answers

Is it worth it compared with a smaller animated prop?
If you want a figure that reads as a person at the door, the 68-inch height is the main reason to pay more than for a tabletop animatronic. For a small apartment or a tight hallway, a smaller prop is easier to store and place.
Can it be used outdoors?
It is listed for indoor and covered-area use. Plug-in power and foam-covered arms mean rain and damp are a risk, so keep it under a roof or porch cover.
How is it powered?
It plugs into a standard US wall outlet. Plan for an outlet nearby or a cord run, and keep the cord out of walking paths.
How tall is it and will it fit my doorway?
It stands 68 inches, about 5.6 feet. Measure your ceiling and doorway clearance first; a standard 80-inch door leaves room, but low porch ceilings may not.
What is in the box?
The butler figure with its standing base and arms, plus the plug-in power connection. Check the listing for the exact included pieces before ordering.
When is it cheapest?
Halloween props usually discount in the last week of October and clear out right after. If you need it for this season, buy earlier; if you can wait, post-holiday clearance is the low point.
