Is the Garant 24-inch sleigh shovel worth it?

For large driveways and heavy snow, yes. It clears wide swaths fast and costs $43.39 at eBay as of November 5, 2026, near the low end of its recent range. Skip it if you mostly clear steps or need to lift snow.

How is it different from a regular snow shovel?

A sleigh shovel has a deep, box-like blade you push along the ground, so it carries more snow per pass. A regular shovel is better for lifting and tossing snow onto banks.

Does the poly blade hold up in cold weather?

Poly is light and won't rust, and the steel wear strip protects the scraping edge. In extreme cold, avoid slamming the blade into ice or curbs, since poly can crack under hard impact.

How wide is it and how much does it weigh?

The blade is 24 inches wide with a 30.5-inch intake height, and the shovel weighs about 11.7 lb. That width suits driveways and long walks but is wide for narrow paths.

What comes in the box?

You get the assembled shovel with its steel handle and the steel wear strip fitted to the blade. No extra accessories are included.

When is the best time to buy it?

Prices on snow tools tend to be lowest in late winter and off-season. At $43.39 as of November 5, 2026, it is already near the bottom of its recent range.
