Is the Garmin Edge MTB worth it over a standard Edge?

If you ride enduro or downhill and want jump metrics, timing gates and 5 Hz descent tracking, the MTB-specific features justify it. Riders who mainly want road navigation can spend less on a general Edge model.

How long does the battery last?

Garmin rates it up to 14 hours in demanding use and up to 26 hours in battery saver mode. Expect closer to the lower figure with multi-band GPS and 5 Hz recording on.

Does it have a touchscreen?

No. It uses a seven-button layout, which works better with gloves and in wet conditions. The trade-off is a slower, more deliberate menu system.

What maps come preloaded?

It ships with Trailforks maps and TopoActive maps. Forksight shows upcoming trail forks, distance remaining, elevation profile and distance back to the start.

You get the Edge MTB unit, a handlebar mount, a top tube mount and a mount strap. A USB-C cable is used for charging and data.
