Is a 20-bar espresso machine better than a 15-bar one?

Not necessarily. Most espresso machines brew at around 9 bar, and the 20-bar figure is the pump's maximum rating. Shot quality depends more on the basket, grinder and your technique than on the headline pressure.

Can it froth milk for lattes?

Yes. It has a steam wand, so you can steam milk for lattes and cappuccinos. It is a single-boiler machine, so you brew the shot first, then switch to steam.

What size is the water tank?

The tank holds 34 fl oz. That is on the small side, so expect to refill it every few drinks.

No. It is a semi-automatic espresso machine, so you need a separate burr grinder or pre-ground coffee.

Is $128.99 a good price?

Lowe's lists it at $128.99 as of November 8, 2026, and it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to judge against. Compare it with other entry-level pump machines with a steam wand before deciding.

Our take on the Garvee 20 Bar Espresso Machine with Steam Milk Frother

The Garvee is a semi-automatic pump espresso machine with a 20-bar pump, a steam wand for milk frothing and a 34 fl oz water tank in a silver finish. It is a budget entry into home espresso, where the 20-bar rating is mostly marketing: real extraction pressure is set by the pump and basket, not the headline number. At $128.99 at Lowe's as of November 8, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare against.
