Question 1

Is the Garvee 35,000 BTU heater safe to use indoors?

Accepted Answer

It is marketed for indoor and outdoor use, but it has no NRTL listing (UL, ETL or CSA), and unvented propane heaters produce carbon monoxide. Use it only in ventilated spaces such as garages or open workshops, never in bedrooms or sealed rooms.

Question 2

What size propane tank does it use?

Accepted Answer

It is designed for a standard 20 lb propane tank, the kind used on gas grills. Check the box for a hose and regulator, since some listings sell the heater alone.

Question 3

How much area will 35,000 BTU heat?

Accepted Answer

The rated maximum is 800 sq ft, but that assumes an open, well-insulated space. In a cold garage or in windy outdoor use, expect it to warm a smaller area or only the zone in front of it.

Question 4

Does it need electricity?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The blower runs on 120V, so you need a nearby outlet or a generator to move the heat. The flame itself runs on propane.

Question 5

Is $89.99 a good price for this heater?

Accepted Answer

The only recorded price is $89.99 as of November 1, 2026, so there is no lower reference point yet. That is cheap for 35,000 BTU, but budget for a tank and hose if they are not included.

Question 6

Can I use it in a bedroom or small room?

Accepted Answer

No. Unvented propane forced-air heaters are not meant for small, sealed sleeping spaces. Use it in ventilated areas and keep a carbon monoxide alarm nearby.
