Is the Genaray 120W Twin LED Bi-Color Panel worth it?

For a two-panel studio or interview kit with DMX and a wide bi-color range, it covers a lot for the money. If you need lightweight travel lights, the 15.8 lb panels work against it.

How does it compare with a single 120W panel?

The twin kit gives you key and fill from matched panels, which is the main reason to buy it over one light. Two panels also let you light a background or a second subject.

Does it run on batteries?

It supports DC power and ships with a charger, but no battery plates are listed. Plan on an external DC supply or AC for long shoots.

How big are the panels?

Each panel is about 21 x 13.1 x 3.1 inches and weighs 15.8 lb. That is a substantial fixture, so check your stands and bags.

Can I control it from a lighting console?

Yes. It has DMX 512 input and output, plus wireless remote operation. Dimming and color temperature are adjusted manually on the fixture.

Lighting kits like this tend to drop during holiday sales and bundle promotions. Watch the price history for a dip below the recent range before buying.

Our take on the Genaray 120W Twin LED Bi-Color Panel

The Genaray 120W Twin LED Bi-Color Panel is a two-light kit of 120W bi-color LED panels that tune from 2700K to 6500K with a CRI of 94.2. Each panel offers 120° beam spread, manual dimming, barndoors, DMX 512 in/out and wireless remote control, and mounts on a 5/8-inch baby pin that converts to a 1⅛-inch junior pin. It runs on AC power or DC, and the kit includes a charger. It is a studio and location workhorse rather than a travel light: each panel weighs 15.8 lb and measures about 21 x 13.1 x 3.1 inches.
