Is the GP6500E worth it over a smaller generator?

If you need to start a well pump, furnace or air compressor, the 8,125 starting watts and AVR make it a better fit than a 3,000-4,000 watt unit. For lights and a fridge only, a smaller inverter generator is lighter and quieter.

What can 6,500 running watts power?

About 54 amps at 120V or 27 amps at 240V. That covers a fridge, furnace blower, lights and a few small appliances, or a welder or large power tools on a job site.

Does it come with a battery and oil?

The 12V 9Ah battery for electric start is included. Engine oil is not, so buy 10W-30 before first use.

How long does it run on a tank?

About 10.5 hours at 50% load on the 6.9-gallon tank. Expect closer to 6-7 hours at heavy load.

Can I connect it to my house?

Only through a transfer switch wired by an electrician, using the 120/240V 30A L14-30R outlet. It is HomeLink compatible for Generac transfer switch setups.
