Our take on the George Oliver Decimo 6-Door Manufactured Wood Accent Cabinet

The George Oliver Decimo is a 39.4-inch-wide, 31.5-inch-tall accent cabinet in mint, built from manufactured wood with six doors. It is a mid-size storage piece for living rooms and bedrooms, sized to sit against a wall or under a window rather than as a full-height wardrobe. Best forLiving room or hallway storageBedrooms needing closed storageBuyers wanting a mint statement pieceRenters who want a freestanding cabinet
Pros
  • Six doors give more separate compartments than a two- or three-door cabinet
  • 39.4-inch width fits many walls without dominating a room
  • Mint finish stands out from standard white and gray cabinets
  • 31.5-inch height works under windows and keeps the top usable
  • Manufactured wood keeps the cost below solid-wood cabinets
Cons
  • Manufactured wood is weaker around hinges and screw holes than solid wood
  • Mint is a strong color that will not suit every room
  • No drawers, so small items need bins inside
  • Flat-packed assembly is likely and adds time
  • Not rated for heavy loads on top

Questions and answers

Is the Decimo cabinet worth it?
It is a reasonable buy if you want a wide, colorful storage piece at a manufactured-wood price. If you need solid wood or heavy-duty shelving, spend more elsewhere.
How does it compare with a two-door accent cabinet?
The six doors split storage into more compartments, which suits organizing by category. A two-door cabinet usually offers larger open shelves for bulky items.
How big is it?
It measures 39.4 inches wide and 31.5 inches tall. Measure your wall and check door clearance before ordering.
Does it come assembled?
Expect to assemble it yourself from flat-packed parts. Set aside an hour or two and have a screwdriver ready.
Where should I put it?
Living rooms, bedrooms and hallways all work. Keep it out of damp rooms, since manufactured wood swells when wet.
When is it cheapest?
Accent furniture tends to drop during major holiday sales and clearance events. Check the price history on this page before buying.
