Does this bed need a box spring?

No. The mattress sits on an embedded platform with plywood slats, so a box spring is not required.

What mattress size fits it?

A twin mattress. The frame measures 79 by 43 inches, sized for a standard twin.

How much weight does it hold?

The listings disagree: the specs say 265 lb maximum, while the description claims 600 lb. Treat 265 lb as the safer figure unless the seller confirms otherwise.

How much room is under the bed?

12 inches of clearance, enough for low storage bins and for a robot vacuum to pass underneath.

Is $179.99 a good price?

It is the best new price across the two stores listing it as of November 7, 2026. There is no longer price history to compare against, so check the other store before buying.

What comes in the box?

The bed frame only, including the headboard and slats. The mattress is not included.
