Questions and answers
- Does the Leighford king bed need a box spring?
- No. It is a platform bed with 14 slats and center support legs, so a mattress sits directly on the slats.
- Will my adjustable base fit inside this bed?
- Yes. Glideaway lists the Leighford as adjustable base compatible, so a power base can sit within the frame.
- What mattress thickness works best?
- Glideaway recommends a 12-inch mattress. Thinner mattresses may feel the 3-inch slat gaps; much thicker ones sit higher on the 47-inch headboard.
- How much weight can it hold?
- The maximum weight capacity is 1,000 lbs, covering the mattress and sleepers.
- How big is the bed in a room?
- Overall dimensions are 80.5 in wide by 85 in deep by 47 in high, and the bed weighs 95 lbs.
- Is the fabric easy to clean?
- The gray linen-look upholstery is fabric, so spot clean it gently; it is less wipeable than a painted or wood headboard.
