Is the GOTRAX Tour XP worth it for commuting?

Yes for short trips, roughly 5 to 10 miles each way, where the fold matters. If your commute is longer than about 12 miles round trip, expect to charge at work or pick a longer-range model.

How fast does it actually go, and how far on a charge?

Top speed is 20 mph and the claimed range is 15.5 miles. Real range is usually lower, especially at full speed, on hills, or with a heavier rider.

Can I ride it in the rain?

It is not rated for wet weather. The display and battery are not sealed for rain, so avoid puddles and wet roads.

What is the weight limit and who can ride it?

The load capacity is 220 lbs and the recommended age is 16 and up. Riders above 220 lbs should look at a sturdier model.

Does it come with a charger and how long does charging take?

It ships with its charger. A full charge from empty takes several hours, so plan on charging overnight.

How does it compare with the GOTRAX G4?

The Tour XP adds 10-inch pneumatic tires and a disc brake over the G4's smaller solid tires, which means a smoother, safer ride. The trade-off is a bit more weight and cost.

It tops out at 20 mph with a claimed range of 15.5 miles, weighs 38 lbs, and folds with a one-touch latch for carrying onto transit or into a closet. It is a commuter-class scooter, not a performance model: the load limit is 220 lbs and the brakes are EABS plus a disc. It holds 4.7 out of 5 from 354 ratings.
