Our take on the Govee Glide Hexa Light Panels

The Govee Glide Hexa Light Panels are a modular wall-lighting kit of 20 hexagonal RGBIC panels that stick to a wall and glow in multiple colors at once. You control them through the Govee Home app, a wired control box, or Alexa and Google Assistant voice commands, and they connect over 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The kit ships with an EU 2-pin plug charger rated for 200-240V, so it is built for European outlets. It is an indoor ambiance product aimed mainly at gamers and room decorators rather than task lighting.

Best forGamers building a backlit wall behind a desk or TVRenters and decorators who want color-changing wall artSmart-home users who want Alexa or Google voice control
People lighting a bedroom, studio or streaming setup
Pros
  • 20 hexagons cover a large wall area and can be arranged in custom shapes
  • RGBIC shows several colors on one panel at once, not just one flat color
  • App control adds scenes, music sync and scheduling
  • Works with Alexa and Google Assistant for voice control
  • Bluetooth setup plus 2.4GHz Wi-Fi keeps the connection simple
Cons
  • EU 2-pin plug and 200-240V rating make it awkward for US or UK buyers without an adapter
  • Plastic panels with a lacquered finish look less premium than glass or metal options
  • Indoor only, and the adhesive mounting limits how often you can reposition them
  • Music sync and scene effects depend on the app, so no app means basic control only
  • 20 panels need a fair amount of free wall space and cable routing

Questions and answers

Is the Govee Glide Hexa worth it?
It is a strong pick if you want a large, colorful wall feature with app and voice control. If you only need soft ambient light, a cheaper light strip does the job.
How does it compare with Govee's light strips?
The hexa panels give a bolder geometric look and cover more wall area, while strips are cheaper, easier to hide and better for edges and furniture. Panels cost more and need flat wall space.
Does it work with Alexa and Google Assistant?
Yes. You can turn the panels on and off, change brightness and pick scenes by voice once the Govee Home app is linked to your assistant.
What is in the box?
The kit includes 20 hexa light panels, a power cable, a Wi-Fi control box and an EU 2-pin plug charger. Mounting adhesive and connectors come with the panels.
Can I use it outside the EU?
The included charger is an EU 2-pin plug rated 200-240V, so in the US or UK you would need a plug adapter or a compatible power supply. The panels themselves are indoor only.
When is it cheapest?
Govee panels usually drop during Black Friday, Prime Day and other major sales. Watch the price history to see whether the current price is near a past low.
