Is the Govee Outdoor Wall Light worth it?

If you want a normal-looking exterior sconce with app color control and you have wiring where it goes, it is a reasonable pick. If you only need white light, a plain fixture costs less.

Does it work with Alexa or Apple Home?

The listed assistant support is Google Assistant only. Check the current Govee app listing before buying if you rely on Alexa or Apple Home.

Does it need to be hardwired?

Yes. The power source is electric and it mounts on the wall, so you need an existing outdoor circuit or an electrician. There is no battery or plug option listed.

Can I control it when I am away from home?

Yes, through the Govee app over Wi-Fi once it is set up. Voice control through Google Assistant also works remotely.

When is the best time to buy it?

Govee runs frequent sales around holidays and Prime Day events. Compare the live price across stores before buying rather than paying list.

Our take on the Govee Outdoor Wall Light

The Govee Outdoor Wall Light is a hardwired exterior sconce with app and Google Assistant control, built for porches, patios and garage walls. It stands out for RGB color and scene control in a fixture that looks like a normal wall light, so you get smart lighting without a smart-bulb look. It is rated 4.5 out of 5 from 545 ratings.
