What reviewers say

Reaction centers on the digital-only release rather than the game itself, since the game has not shipped. Some players accept the move to codes, while others say a code is not ownership.

Pros

Convenient pre-load before launch
No disc swapping for a large open-world game

Cons

No physical disc means no ownership
Risk of losing access if the game is pulled from the store
Cannot share the game with friends or return it without a disc

About the Grand Theft Auto VI

Vice City, USA. Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive. This product will only contain a download code inside the box to support pre-load starting on November 12. A disc will not be included in the box. Pre-order to receive the Vintage Vice City Pack. The Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition Upgrade will also be available for Grand Theft Auto VI: Standard Edition owners to purchase separately at any time. Physical version buyers can upgrade at any point after their digital download code has been redeemed by purchasing the Ultimate Edition upgrade as a digital add-on through the PlayStation and Xbox storefronts. Ultimate Edition bonuses are threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia's story, with new items uncovered behind each chapter.
