Questions and answers

Is the Grill Boss electric smoker worth it?
At $300.19 at Best Buy as of November 5, 2026, it is a low-cost way into smoking without fuel or vent management. It suits beginners and small batches; anyone chasing heavy smoke flavor should look at a charcoal or pellet smoker.
How does it compare with a pellet smoker?
A pellet smoker burns wood for real smoke flavor but costs more and needs pellets. The Grill Boss runs on household electricity, holds temperature with a thermostat and can cold-smoke down to 25°F, but the smoke taste is milder.
Can it cold smoke?
Yes. The thermostat range starts at 25°F, so you can cold-smoke cheese, fish or jerky. Keep in mind the single 1500-watt element produces little smoke on its own, so a separate chip tray helps.
How much food fits inside?
The 531 square inches across three adjustable racks hold up to 3 chickens, 6 ribs or 2 turkeys. The vertical cabinet is tall but only 15.75 inches deep, so very large briskets may not fit.
What is in the box?
You get the smoker cabinet, three stainless steel racks, a front-access grease tray and a built-in temperature gauge. Wood chips and a cover are not included.
When is it cheapest?
Electric smokers usually drop around spring grilling season and again in late fall clearance. The current best is $300.19 at Best Buy as of November 5, 2026, so compare the 8 stores listing it before buying.
Where is the Grill Boss 1500 Watt Electric Vertical Smoker with 531 Sq In Cooking Area cheapest?
