Our take on the Handbode Hex Rubber Encased Dumbbell

The Handbode Hex Rubber Encased Dumbbell is a single hex-head dumbbell with a metal plate core wrapped in rubber. The hex shape keeps it from rolling and the rubber coating protects floors and cuts clanking. It is sold as one dumbbell, not a pair, so check the weight and quantity before ordering. At $58.89 at Amazon as of November 5, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare against.

Best forHome lifters who want one floor-friendly dumbbellGarage gyms with concrete or rubber floorsBuyers who prefer hex heads that stay putAdding a single weight to an existing set
Pros
  • Hex head resists rolling between sets
  • Rubber casing protects floors and dampens noise
  • Metal plate core holds up to drops better than concrete fill
  • Flat sides work for renegade rows and push-up grips
Cons
  • Sold as a single dumbbell, so a pair costs double
  • Rubber can give off a smell when new
  • Bulkier than bare metal at the same weight
  • Only one new price listed, so little room to compare

Questions and answers

Is this one dumbbell or a pair?
It is a single dumbbell. If you want a pair, you need to order two, which doubles the price.
Will the rubber damage my floors?
The rubber casing is meant to protect floors and reduce noise. On hardwood or tile, still set it down rather than dropping it from height.
Is $58.89 a good price?
It is the only new price listed as of November 5, 2026, so there is no recent range to judge it against. Compare it with other hex rubber dumbbells at the same weight.
What is inside the rubber?
A metal plate core. Metal plates hold up better than concrete-filled heads if the dumbbell is dropped.
Does the hex shape matter?
Yes. The flat sides stop it rolling across the floor and let you rest it flat for rows and push-ups.
What weight should I start with?
Pick a weight you can press for 8 to 12 reps with good form. Since it is sold singly, you can add matching weights over time.
Where is the Handbode Hex Rubber Encased Dumbbell cheapest?
At Amazon, for $58.89, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the Handbode Hex Rubber Encased Dumbbell?
3 stores we checked sell it, including Amazon, Harbor Heavyweights Co., Walmart.
