Our take on the Heaflex Training Collar with Remote 4200ft Range

The Heaflex Training Collar is a remote e-collar for medium dogs with a claimed 4200 ft range, well beyond the 300–900 ft of most budget remotes. It pairs a handheld transmitter with a receiver collar and typically offers tone, vibration and adjustable static correction. It is a niche brand with a small review base: 4.8 out of 5 from 11 ratings, so the score is encouraging but thin. Shoppers should compare its price against mainstream e-collars from Sportdog, Dogtra and Garmin before buying.

Best forOwners training recall at long distancesWorking or hunting dogs off leashMedium dogs that respond to tone or vibrationBuyers who want range without a premium brand price
Pros
  • Long claimed 4200 ft range for the money
  • Tone and vibration modes work without static
  • Adjustable correction levels suit different temperaments
  • Rechargeable transmitter and receiver collar
Cons
  • Only 11 ratings, so reliability is hard to judge
  • Little independent testing of the claimed range
  • Medium-size fit may not suit very small or giant dogs
  • Not a known brand, so warranty support is uncertain

What reviewers say

With just 11 ratings at 4.8 out of 5, feedback is positive but too limited to call proven. Buyers of similar long-range budget collars most often praise reach and battery life and criticise build quality and inconsistent stimulation.

Pros
  • Works at long distances in open ground
  • Tone and vibration are useful for sensitive dogs
  • Battery holds up over a training session
Cons
  • Range claims often fall short in brush or buildings
  • Correction strength can vary between levels
  • Cheaper plastic clips and straps wear out

Questions and answers

Is the 4200 ft range realistic?
Expect that figure only in open line of sight. Trees, walls and terrain cut range sharply, as with any remote collar, so test it on your own ground before relying on it off leash.
Is static correction safe for my dog?
Used at the lowest effective level and paired with reward-based training, e-collars are legal and common for recall work in the US. Start on tone or vibration and consult a trainer if your dog is anxious or reactive.
Will it fit a medium dog?
It is listed for medium dogs, so check the collar strap length against your dog's neck measurement before ordering. Very small or very large necks may need a different model.
What comes in the box?
Typically the remote transmitter, receiver collar, strap, charger and lanyard. Confirm the exact contents with the seller, since bundle details vary.
How does it compare with Sportdog or Dogtra?
Those brands cost more but have longer track records and broader dealer support. The Heaflex competes on range per dollar; choose a mainstream brand if you want proven reliability and easy warranty service.
When is the price lowest?
Remote training collars usually dip during spring training season and Black Friday sales. Check the price history on this page to see whether the current price is near its low.
