Our take on the Helios The Blaze Pro Pickleball Paddle

The Helios Blaze Pro is a 16-inch carbon-faced paddle with a soft polymer honeycomb core, listed at 8.0 oz. The carbon face adds pop and spin, while the soft core trades some power for control and a forgiving feel. At $139 at Nordstrom as of November 8, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare it against.

Best forIntermediate players wanting a control-first paddlePlayers moving up from fiberglass facesDoubles players who dink and reset oftenShoppers who want a soft, arm-friendly core
Pros
  • Carbon face gives strong spin and a crisp response
  • Soft polymer core is forgiving on off-center hits
  • 16-inch length adds reach for serves and overheads
  • 8.0 oz weight suits most adult players
  • Black finish looks clean and understated
Cons
  • Soft core means less put-away power than a hard core
  • Carbon faces can feel harsh on mishits until you adjust
  • Only one new price listed, so no discount to compare
  • 8.0 oz may feel heavy for players used to lighter paddles

Questions and answers

Is the Blaze Pro good for beginners?
It is better suited to intermediate players. The soft core is forgiving, but the carbon face and 8.0 oz weight reward decent technique more than a basic starter paddle would.
Does the soft core cost me power?
Yes, somewhat. A soft polymer core flexes more on impact, which helps control and comfort but gives less pop on drives and put-aways than a hard core.
What does the 16-inch length change?
It gives extra reach on serves and overheads and a slightly larger hitting area. The trade-off is a little less maneuverability at the net than a shorter paddle.
What is in the box?
A single paddle. Covers and edge tape are not listed, so check the listing if you want those included.
When is it cheapest?
There is no price history to point to a low point. The only new price given is $139 at Nordstrom as of November 8, 2026.
Where is the Helios The Blaze Pro Pickleball Paddle cheapest?
At Nordstrom, for $139.00, as of our latest check.
